Ridiculous! A whole bunch of ridiculous things are happening around!

Mr. Chen, the chair of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS), came to Taipei, Taiwan yesterday. The Ma government dispatched 7,000 police to protect him. See, e.g. this link. The governing KMT has also applied beforehand all the scenes in Taipei suitable for protesting Chen. See, e.g. this link. Later applications by the major opposition party for protests in other places in Taipei are all turned down. See, e.g. this link.

Some non-governmental organizations encourage people to protest. One of them encouraged throwing eggs for protest and awards NTD 200 to 1,000 for successfully throwing eggs at Chen, chair of the ARATS. Hey, the Ministry of Justice warns us that throwing eggs toward Chen is a crime. The ministry also warns that it is a crime to encourage others to throw eggs toward Chen! Great, you cannot legally throw eggs.

Someone brought a Tibetan flag and demonstrated it in Taipei yesterday. Guess what? The police robbed her of her flag and forced her to the police station. See, e.g. this link. The robbing caused fracture in her finger. See, e.g. this picture from this link, which reveals an even more ridiculous shame that she was not allowed to go to the hospital unless she leaves her personal information to the police! There are also cases where people demonstrated national flags and were expelled from the scene. Also, one who demonstrated a poster saying ``Taiwan is not part of China'' was ordered to remove the poster! See, e.g. this link.

The PRC government, as always, claims that Taiwan is part of China. Upon Mr. Chen's visit, the Chinese-leaning Ma government simply removes all national flags in the airport. See, e.g. this link. Shame!

Earlier, another Chinese envoy, Mr. Chang, also came to Taiwan. Some people, led by Wang, came to the scene and Chang was pushed to the ground, although some people claimed that he fell down himself rather than being pushed down. See, e.g. this link and this link. Please note that Chang warned Taiwan with ``no independence, no war'' when he came, and he's been threatening Taiwan in this way in the past. What happened next? First, Wang was targeted by the gangs. See, e.g. this link. Second, Wang was prosecuted within 9 days for a 14 months term! The indictment claims some very ambiguous statements like ``Wang harms social stability, tears down Taiwan democracy, abuses human rights and the rule by law.'' See, e.g. this link. In contrast, earlier this year, Mr. Su kicked the ex-president Chen and also brutally attacked the ex-Japan ambassador Hsu. Chen was hurt in the spine and guess what, Su was prosecuted in 53 days for a 4 month term. See, e.g. this link. But later in October, Su was invited by the Ma government to attend the 97th anniversary of the Republic of China! See, e.g. this link.

Please defend with us the freedom of expression of the Taiwan people. The situation is deteriorating quite rapidly. Finally, let me conclude with this previous post.
