誰在用鐵拳打擊公視（李慧宜）
如果順利的話，再過半個多月，我的第一個孩子就要出生了！進入公共電視第十年，一直在新聞現場衝刺，這是我第一次滿心期待放長假等待生產，可是我萬萬沒想到，假期不到幾天，去年12月28日挑燈夜戰的公視臨時董事會，卻反而讓我為這個即將出世的孩子深感憂心。
以前在跑新聞的時候，總是會常常說，「我們要為後代留下一片淨土」，自從發現自己懷孕後，我才真實深刻體會到，何謂「為後代」的意義？而「淨土」的具體樣貌又是如何？孩子的出現，的確會讓人不得不認真面對「未來」。可是以這樣的角度，觀察執政黨以國會優勢修法，前後總共增補14名董事的公共電視董事會近來的表現，實在是讓人無法想像，背負社會期待、肩扛公共價值的學者與社會賢達們，竟然正不自覺地摧毀著公共媒體的發展。
公共電視在去年底召開臨時董事會，董事陳世敏、盧非易、須文尉等人提案重選董事長，過程中有監事提出質疑，多名董事退席，經過五個小時的挑燈夜戰後，會議在29日凌晨一點多，以12票贊成、1票反對、3票棄權通過史無前例的董事長改選案，意思是說，現任公視董事長鄭同僚沒有重大過失的狀況下，即將被迫終止任期，也意味著誰的政治拳頭大，就可以隨時干預理應獨立於政治運作之外的公共媒體。

1992年的立委選舉在信介仙的帶領下，民進黨大勝，鼓舞了很多年輕人，隔年2月我就響應沈富雄委員號召「千人入黨」的行動，加入了民進黨。懷著對公共事務的熱忱，我曾擔任黨員小組會議的副小組長，而後又擔任北市中山區黨部的輔導員，對選民服務有一定的瞭解。
1994年阿扁獲民進黨提名參選台北市長，因緣際會地，我被找來負責安排候阿扁在中山大同區的行程。選戰打得很辛苦，最後以43％的得票率勝選，民進黨努力這麼多年，終於有了初步的成果，大家都感到非常振奮。
阿扁是台北市第一位民選直轄市長，也是民進黨第一位直轄市長，執政團隊對於市政建設完全不敢馬虎。我因為有組織服務的經驗，被派到福爾摩沙之友聯誼會，繼續深耕基層，每天面對最死忠的支持者，做好聯繫與溝通，包括後來在全國各地成立的扁友會，都為阿扁累積了堅強的政治實力與成果，也獲得了一致的好評。

我對「體制外革命運動」的思考
從年輕的時候看到黨外的「雞兔同籠」鬥爭，到「群眾路線與選舉路線」的辨證，再到「體制外與體制內」的論辯，其實都是本土派內部矛盾的問題，但是在立足點上有演變上的不同。前兩者都是在一個體制內對社會運動的思考，後者的思考立足點已經超越了體制，但是現實的生活無法離開既有的體制，才有體制內與體制外的提法。若揣磨論述原來的用意，體制內的英文應該是Within the System，體制外則是Beyond the System而不是Outside of the System，是超越既有體制之限制的意思，就可以更準確理解「體制外」的提法，它並不是脫離且自外於既有的體制，而是在既有體制內要推翻體制的意思。（對於「體制內」與「體制外」的比較可以參考史明Ojisan的一些論述）。所以，從事「體制外」的運動，並不需要完全排斥「體制內」的選舉。
台灣現有的體制是什麼？套一下最近發表「台灣大劫難」的中國流亡作家袁紅冰對中國共產黨的提法，「中華民國」是一個「政治壟斷、經濟剝削的體制」，它的本質來自它的流亡性格，不採取認同土地與人民的現代社會思潮作為統治台灣的基礎，而以威權高壓與竉絡分化取代民主法治的作為，不惜以破壞社會價值、傷害環境、犧牲人權與公義阻斷台灣社會的進步。我們生活其中，必須了解這個體制的惡劣本質，只能夠從根本上加以推翻，人民才能夠得到解放，這不是政黨輪替可以解決的問題。一個認同台灣土地與人民的政黨，不會連最符合社會進步最基本的法律制度（公投法、立委選制、集會遊行法等）都無動於衷，不把人民的聲音當作一回事。這樣的體制不論那個政黨執政都是要被推翻的，所以「體制外」的意思就是在生活的體制內主張推翻這個體制。從李登輝執政12年與陳水扁執政8年的「中華民國台灣化」，2008年之後台灣人民仍然無法擺脫被出賣與被外敵侵略的威脅危機，証明流亡政府體制是台灣人民無法翻身的枷鎖。
推翻現有體制的價值觀與行為模式就是社會的大翻轉（Revolution），這就是「革命」的意思。「工業革命」、「資訊革命」、「知識革命」由於科技的發展帶來人類社會的大改變，就是這個「革命」的意思。「革命」的意思並不是僅限於「軍事」或是「武力」的革命。為了加以區隔，近代國家也才有「非暴力革命」的許多成功例子。許多人都同意，台灣的社會條件並不具有軍事革命的條件，但是台灣的社會結構與體系確實存在大幅度翻轉的必要，不然台灣人民永遠都要墮落在追求經濟物質享受、缺乏文化素養的奴隸生活。自以為對台灣社會負有歷史使命感的人士，都應當以思想及行動鼓勵台灣人要從心靈上進行自我的革命，再從公民運動得推廣上，促成一場社會革命。一個本土派的政黨應該具有這樣的思考與行動才能從根本上帶動社會、感動人民，才有機會以非暴力的選舉方式贏得人民的信任、取得政權，進行社會革命的政策。選舉要勝利不是只靠咒罵流亡政府，而是提出的社會價值觀與捍衛主權立場的行動才能夠贏得人民的支持，才有機會繼續社會的改造。主權的立場必須優先捍衛，才有爭取執政、推廣社會價值觀的空間。空口說白話，僅憑一篇文章，就要讓人心已經腐化的民眾清醒，是嚴重不足的。大家能力與時間都有限，各自分工努力即可，不必老是認為社會問題只有一種解決的方法，而且別人總是錯的。

Taiwan's Prosecutors Continue to Abuse Their Power
Taiwan's prosecutors continue to abuse their power in the Chen Shui-bian case as they set out on yet another fishing expedition. They recently announced a fourth round of indictments (22 people) in Chen's case. So far they have called in just about anyone and everyone that ever shook hands with Chen or offered to buy him a cup of coffee.
Why are so many indicted? Despite having kept Chen in jail so long that he cannot prepare a proper defense, the prosecutors do not have a solid case of their own. They need to continue fishing. They need to find someone who they can threaten, bully or cajole to at least forge or fabricate a story to comply with their position. Or they hope by constant indictments to force Chen to bargain with them.
Contrast this abuse of power by prosecutors with three of the most obvious pan-blue cases. First there is the flagrant open and shut case of ex-legislator Diane Lee who illegally ripped Taiwan's taxpayers off of some US$3 million. Lee has never spent a day in jail; Lee still enjoys the money. None of her bank accounts have been frozen. Lee has two passports and can easily skip the country with either one. Yet as she continues to spend the taxpayer's money, Lee's prosecutors are debating whether they should even charge her for anything. Further what about the many members of Lee's family, relations and fellow KMT party who knew of her duplicity. Chen's case is in its fourth round of indictments. Why then have none ever been indicted or even called in for questioning in Lee's case?

Taiwan's political purgatory fuels billion dollar missile buy from U.S. corporation
The ongoing unresolved international status of Taiwan, commonly called the "Taiwan question" or the "strategic ambiguity", has been described more bluntly by the District of Columbia U.S. Court of Appeals as "political purgatory". The purgatory cited by the court leaves Taiwan threatened by the People's Republic of China and has fueled a decades-old arms race.
One of the chief beneficiaries of the military build-up across the Taiwan Strait has been defense contractor Raytheon Corporation of Waltham, Massachusetts. Last week Raytheon announced a $1.1 billion dollar order from the Republic of China in-exile for an upgraded Patriot anti-missile system.
Daniel L. Smith, head of Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems branch, said, "The Patriot system is a vital element to providing superior integrated air and missile defense capabilities for the protection of Taiwan."

Taiwan faces a new year of political purgatory
Hopes were high in Taiwan when Barack Obama became President of the United States in January 2009. Obama had campaigned on the promise of change and that gave many in Taiwan hope for a way out from the "strategic ambiguity" imposed on the island by the United States in 1945.
When World War II ended with the Japanese surrender to the United States in August 1945, the U.S. allowed the Japanese to continue to rule the island territory commonly called Formosa. Then, in October, the Seventh Fleet of the U.S. Navy landed Chinese Nationalist troops of Chiang Kai-shek on the island to process Japanese soldiers thus beginning the longstanding ambiguity that prevents the island residents a representative to the World Health Organization, membership in the United Nations, or even participation in a recent climate change conference.
Taiwan, at the crossroads of history, became locked into limbo with the advent of the Cold War following World War II. The outbreak of the Korean "police action" in 1950 further cemented Taiwan's ambiguity with the United States recognizing the exiled Kuomintang regime Chiang Kai-shek as the legitimate government of China.
